East Rochester, NY – May 10, 2005 – Spinergy has acquired several new pieces of equipment, dramatically increasing production capacity for both its CD and DVD manufacturing and duplicating business.  The new equipment enhances three areas of Spinergy’s operation:

To serve its high-volume clients, an additional 60-ton CD molding machine (Netstal Discjet) was acquired earlier this year doubling Spinergy’s stamped CD output.  Spinergy took delivery on its first molding machine in 2001 and last year alone produced more than 3.3 million CDs.  These machines have a combined capacity of nearly 2,000 CDs per hour.  They are both equipped with a hybrid drive, which allows for the production of partially metallized discs, in addition to the standard 120mm CDs. Each system includes integrated quality control instruments, which test and verify every disc, rejecting any that have flaws.

For clients requiring recordable media for their projects, Spinergy has acquired two additional high-speed robotic duplicators (Otari CDP-64).  Spinergy has operated a single CDP-64 since 2003.  By tripling the number of units, Spinergy’s duplication capacity has risen to more than 4,400 discs per hour.  Mary Reeves, President of Spinergy said, “We are very excited about the expansion of our CD duplication capabilities. With over 200 CD drives Spinergy has emerged as one of the largest CD duplicators on the East Coast.”  These machines spend much of their time burning software onto blank CDs used by photo developers all over the USA to deliver photos on CD to customers.

In addition to the capabilities of the new molding machine, Spinergy recently upgraded the drives in its duplication and publishing equipment, providing for faster throughput for recordable CD and DVD jobs.  “We can now produce as many as 150 full length DVDs an hour with direct-to-disc thermal printing” said Jason Maedl, Spinergy’s Director of Technical Services.  “DVDs are a fast growing market and we’re well positioned to meet the demand.”

By making these capital investments, Spinergy is committing to improving turn times for its customers while taking on larger and larger jobs.  Spinergy has been in business for over two decades providing eMedia services such as CD/DVD replication, duplication, and screen-printing.  Spinergy currently employs 41 in its 47,000 sq ft facility in East Rochester.
