Spinergy Purchases Digital Disc Press

Spinergy is excited to announce the acquisition of a new direct to disc digital printing technology.  The new service is expected to be available to customers early in 2007.   In addition to Spinergy’s screen printing and thermal printing services, direct to disc digital printing is an alternative option for customers looking for smaller quantities of full color CDs or DVDs at a fast turn.

One of the initial five to be in operation within the United States, the Tapematic 2Print Digital Color Disc Press allows Spinergy to offer fast turn, full color, high quality digital disc printing at an economical price to customers at low quantities.

The acquisition of the digital disc press is keeping with Spinergy’s commitment to implementing technological advances in an effort to offer customers the widest variety of options within the CD and DVD industry.

“The addition of this machine will allow Spinergy to maintain its status as an industry leader in CD and DVD manufacturing and printing,” said Spinergy President Mary Reeves.  “We can provide full color, digitally printed discs economically at lower quantities—meaning faster service for our customers without sacrificing quality.”

The new service utilizes ultra-violet curable inks applied to discs via a series of nozzles.  The result is an indelible disc surface with graphic quality commensurate to that of screen printing.  It is most efficient at CD or DVD print runs of 2,000 discs or fewer.  The technology also allows for variable data printing and disc serialization.
