Rising Oil Prices Affecting CD and DVD Prices

Everybody knows from gas prices these days that the price of oil has been on the up rise. But what a lot of people don’t know is that CDs and DVDs are manufactured using a plastic polycarbonate made of oil. Therefore, it is inevitable that there will be higher prices on media throughout the CD and DVD manufacturing industry. Furthermore, a lot of packaging for CDs and DVDs, like jewel cases and clam shells, are also composed of oil. So these will also see some price hikes. Hopefully, in the near future, the price of oil will come back down, in turn, lowering the price of replicating CDs and DVDs and the packaging for them.

Customer's Spin – West Irondequoit School District

The West Irondequoit School District was looking to replace printed material that promoted the school district with an interactive DVD. The DVD would be used to recruit staff to the school district. The school came to Spinergy for help making the DVD and actually got to work with sales executive Joe Matteson who is an Irondequoit alumnus. West Irondequoit shot the still and video images for the DVD and handed the master over to Spinergy. Spinergy then replicated the DVD, put a colorful screen print on the media, and packaged it in a clam shell. The end product was an exciting promotional DVD with lively music that could be easily edited for annual updates.

Golf Tip: Tee It Higher, to Knock It Farther

With the deep face drivers on the market today, the tees that have been used for the last 100 years are being threatened with extinction! In order to get the maximum out of these new scientific wonders, you have to hit the ball higher on the clubface. This requires the use of a longer tee. Use a 2¾-inch tee, teeing up the ball so that half of the ball is above the clubface. Make sure the ball is positioned off the left instep (for right-handed golfers). If you tee it up too far back in your stance the tendency is to pop the ball up into the air because the angle of attack into the ball is too steep. Finally, make sure you keep your head behind the ball through impact to ensure a slightly “upward” blow to get the maximum launch angle and improved distance.
